The Sentence is Death

Just saw this article from UGPulse. One of the Ugandan news outlets. No, the punishment for homosexuality is not 14 years in prison. That is the old law. The punishment in the bill is a Life time in prison. With no negotiations about this.
And, for ‘aggravated homosexuality’ as defined by the law, the sentence is Death.

The Anti-Homosexuality bill was on Wednesday evening tabled in Parliament for the First reading.

The bill, which was tabled by Ndorwa West MP, David Bahati, seeks to criminalize the practice of homosexuality in Uganda and penalize individuals involved in the practice.

The homosexual groups in Uganda have on several occasions protested the government over what they describe as violation of their rights but the government has struck to its gum to outlaw the inhumane practice.

The Minister of Uganda for Ethics and Integrity, Dr. James Nsaba Buturo explains that once passed into law, the bill will rid Uganda of the vice that has continued to be a menace in secondary schools.

Dr. Buturo adds that government will not hesitate to shame countries that give aid to Africa on condition that it supports homosexuality.

Once the bill is passed into law, anyone found practicing homosexuality will face 14 years in prison whereas those found guilty of operating brothels where homosexuals meet will also be liable to 14 years imprisonment.
